THE RAVENS - 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from our single, estate vineyard.  Yields are kept down and organically farmed to achieve the best expression of the fruit. The grapes are hand-harvested and sorted then naturally fermented with the vineyard's indigenous yeast. The wine is aged for over 20 months in French oak barrels made by small-production coopers. It is bottled unfiltered and unfined.

Napa Valley's 2013 vintage is already considered historic.  An ideal growing season has created extraordinary wines throughout the valley and The Ravens produced one of it's most beautiful expressions yet.  Early bud break and the long, warm ripening season yielded fruit of great power and deep complexity. They are approachable now, in their exuberant youth, and structured for long term cellaring.  400 cases produced.

"The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon The Ravens Vineyard has turned out beautifully. Dense and powerful in the glass, with lovely ferrous undertones, the Ravens Cabernet is one of the most distinctive wines being made in Calistoga. Savory and mineral notes wrap around a core of red-fleshed stone fruits. This beautifully balanced, harmonious Cabernet possesses terrific balance. It should drink well with minimal cellaring. Winemaker Aaron Pott has done a fabulous job coaxing out the personality of this site."  - Antonio Galloni, Vinous

"The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon The Ravens is slightly more polished, displaying a denser purple color, more vivid, sweet blackberry and blackcurrant fruit, and a hint of earthiness. It’s long and rich, with supple tannin, good acidity and terrific palate presence. It should drink well for at least 15-20 years." - Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
