After a two year hiatus, our amphora-aged estate Cabernet Sauvignon, PEARL of the RAVENS, has returned in full glory. The 2018 PEARL of the RAVENS, blends 80% amphora-aged Cabernet with 20% barrel-aged, placing the pure virtues of crafting in terra-cotta in the forefront.  

The 2018 vintage strikes the perfect balance between richness and luminosity. Brightness courses through the dark fruit and earthy notes. The wine has ideal weight, fine tannins, and a beautiful, lingering finish. 

Surprisingly smooth for such a young wine, the tannins innate to our wine would benefit from aging and promise a long drinking window. A bit quiet upon release, this wine will gain in complexity and depth with bottle aging.

69 cases produced.

100% Cabernet Sauvignon from our single, estate vineyard.  Yields are kept down and organically farmed to achieve the best expression of the fruit. The grapes are hand-harvested and naturally fermented with the vineyard's indigenous yeast. It is bottled unfiltered and unfined. 

The bottle features our Raven logo blown up to wrap around the surface and highlight a platinum pearl in its beak.


AARON POTT'S TASTING NOTES: 

On the Nose: Black licorice, plum, toasted walnut, petrichor, rust, roast beef, fresh tobacco leaves, nutmeg, blood orange with cloves, pomegranate. 


On the Palate: Very rich attack - bittersweet cocoa, cherry, sandalwood plum; complex mid-palate, and long finish of toffee, dark chocolate cake, and iris notes.
